I was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and immigrated to Dallas, Texas, in 2001. My entrepreneurial journey began shortly after at age 10 when I started a company called “Cash for Cans.” I collected recyclable waste from neighbors for a nominal fee and provided a small dividend to my clients. Then we got the first home computer, a Dell Inspiron, and fell in love. I created my first website, teaching myself HTML, CSS, and Python. That experience made me fall in love with the intersection of business, technology, and creativity.
In college at UT Austin, I studied Management Information Systems which helped me understand the critical role of IT infrastructure. I joined KPMG early in my career as an IT Consultant, building rigorous IT governance systems before heading to grad school. At Wharton, I studied finance, strategy, & technology management, realizing the power of strategic capital allocation.
During my MBA, I spent a summer in Los Angeles at Causeway Capital Management, working across client relations and investment technology to redefine their innovation strategy. In 2024, I returned to KPMG to focus on Strategy & Tech M&A. I’m a student of the deal & have been privileged to advise on the technical and operational intricacies of major acquisitions, helping private equity and corporate clients navigate complex transactions.
Through data-driven analysis & insights, I write about the evolving landscape of technology, start-ups, venture capital, culture, and science. My goal is to foster a dialogue, sharing and debating ideas to help navigate the complex intersections of innovation, growth, and humanity.
Beyond the deal sheet, I am a lover of music and the arts, fascinated by how the creator economy is reshaping ownership and expression. I’m an avid reader and a local DJ. Currently, I am planning my biggest project yet: marrying my college sweetheart.
